This course is designed to introduce the student to some of the many disabilities individuals may experience. Its scope is to focus on those disabilities which may exist at birth(developmental in nature), late on-set disabilities, and disabilities which may occur as a reult of lifestyle, trauma and / or disease. Related issues that are impacted because of disabilities will be examined.

Module Description:
This course is designed to introduce the student to the range of supports identified to address behavioral concerns. This may include the development of: specific client support guidelines, emergency contingency plans and teaching plan programs designed to meet the level of support required by each client in service. To ensure that the student is knowledgeable and possesses practical skills to prevent and intervene with more challenging individuals, the student will also be taught a nationally recognized non-violent crisis management course.
